Makoto Konno a girl attending high school in Tokyo realises she has the power to go back in time and re-do things (called a "time-leap") when she impossibly avoids a fatal accident at a train crossing one day.

Bewildered, she consults with her aunt At first, Makoto uses her power extravagantly to avoid being tardy and to get perfect grades on tests, and even relive a single karaoke session for about ten hours. However, things begin to turn bad as she discovers how her actions can adversely affect others. Makoto ends up using up more of her leaps to recklessly prevent undesirable situations from happening, including an awkward confession of love from her best friend Chiaki Mamiya . Eventually she discovers a numbered tattoo on her arm which counts down with each leap. She determines that the tattoo indicates that she can only leap through time a limited number of times. With only a few time leaps left, she attempts to make things right for everyone, but impulsively uses her final leap to prevent a phone call from Chiaki asking if she knows about time-leaping. As a result, she is unable to prevent her friend Kōsuke Tsuda and his girlfriend from being killed in the accident at the train crossing that Makoto was originally involved in. Devastated, time suddenly stops.

The cast includes Maki Horikita (Mutsuko Hoshino, the apprentice), Hidetaka Yoshioka (Ryunosuke Chagawa, the writer), Shinichi Tsutsumi (Norifumi Suzuki, the mechanic), Koyuki (Hiromi Ishizaki, sake bar owner), Hiroko Yakushimaru (Tomoe Suzuki, the mechanic's wife), Kazuki Koshimizu (Ippei Suzuki, the mechanic's son) and Kenta Suga (Junnosuke Furuyuki, the abandoned boy).

The plot takes place in a small community in post-war Tokyo, and follows the interweaving story threads of a number of the community's residents over the course of a single year as Tokyo Tower is being built.Norifumi Suzuki, consistently called "Suzuki Auto" by several of the other characters, runs a small auto repair shop, where he lives with his wife, Tomoe, and son, Ippei. Mutsuko Hoshino, a young girl from Aomori Prefecture comes to live with them and work as Suzuki's apprentice, having applied for the position as a one-year work opportunity.

Though Mutsuko is initially shocked and upset at finding Suzuki Auto to be nothing like her expectations - a small auto repair shop where she's expected to do manual labor rather than a large company where she would be doing white-collar clerical work - she soon comes to enjoy her new life. Consistently called "Roku" by the Suzukis, she quickly becomes like a family member to them. Later in the film, she is given train tickets back to Aomori for the new year as a Christmas present, but she does not want to go back believing that no one in Aomori wants her to return. However, Tomoe reveals to her the letters she has been receiving from Mutsuko's mother and have kept secretly in accordance with the mother's wishes. Touched, Mutsuko chooses to return home to Aomori excited to be seeing her family again. She happily waves to the Suzukis, whom she thanks for a great year while leaving.

“Tokyo Shonen, is the story of Minato (Horikita Maki), a girl who lost both her parents at a young age and now lives together with her grandmother. She has a pen pal named Night (ナイト) whom she can tell really everything, but she knows nothing about him except that he is supposedly a boy her age.

Minato has a part-time job in a convenience store and there she falls in love with Siu (Ishida Takuya), a student who failed the entrance exam. Siu’s dream is to become a cameraman, but his father wants him to succeed as a doctor and therefore it is necessary for him to get into a good university.

They little by little start to get close to each other. Minato informs Night about this and writes him a farewell letter. However, the thing is that Night also fell in love with Minato, creating a complex love triangle, because this Night actually is her alter ego."

in japanese. for beginners, dont take it too seriously this game wont make you speak and understand japanese, it will just learn you lots of words and sentences. Indeed very useful is the feature of hearing the words in japanese, and you can write down & learn hiragana, katakana.

Takeshi Kaneshiro plays a Shinigami (God of Death) who comes down to Earth to pass judgement on a random person, whether they had fulfilled their destiny and then die or be passed over because of unfinished business.

The movie is told in three seemingly different stories but everything is connected ultimately at the end. Takeshi Kaneshiro is perfect as the Shinigami who always meets with rainy days when he gets to work and his ultimate love is music, which he labels as man’s greatest invention. Compared to other Shinigamis, he is perhaps a kind-hearted one which explains why he has a black dog as companion who check his every decision.

Takeshi’s Shinigami character has to pass judgement (proceed=death, suspend=live) on three people in this movie, a meek girl who has a sad life where everyone around her just passes away leaving her behind, a faithful follower to his mafia boss and an old hairdresser that lives in the countryside. The first story is about Kazue Fujiki (Manami Konishi) who lives a sad life and even has to face a harassment call daily. She meets Mr. Chiba (Takeshi Kaneshiro) who goes into her life and tries to get her views about death. This was a straight judgement call leading to death for her until an unexpected event occurs to her. This was a pretty well put together story.

The movie is beautifully shot against a backdrop of rainy days. Love the theme song SUNNY DAY which is a perfect fit for the movie and performed by Manami Konishi who plays the younger Kazue Fujiki in the movie. Even though the movie revolves around death, it doesn’t fail in encouraging people to use every minute of their life to it’s fullest, without any regrets.
